Red meat protein has the highest Carbon Footprint of all food types. This is because a Carbon Footprint is measured over the entire lifespan of the product. Where animal husbandry in involved we include the carbon footprint of the food and waste of the animals. In Ireland, our grassfed system is recognised as one of the most environmentally friendly means of production.
Red meat (beef, venison, sheep) has an avg Carbon Footprint of 2.6gr/kcal
White meat (pork, poultry, rabbit) has an avg Carbon Footprint of 2.2gr/kcal
